Welcome to the 2nd Southeast Asia Ticks and Tick-borne Diseases Symposium (2025)
Following a regional initiative launched in 2023 by the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge, we are very pleased to invite you to the second edition of Southeast Asia Ticks and Tick-borne Diseases Symposium which will be held in Singapore on 28-29 August 2025.
The main objective of the symposium is to create a network of experts on ticks and associated pathogens in SEA and to favour knowledge transfer and emulation around this emerging topic. The lack of common knowledge on ticks in the region motivated this symposium. In particular, this meeting fostered international scientific exchange on the objectives of TBDs control in SEA. This unique initiative enabled all those working in the field of ticks and related diseases to meet with the firm intention of developing a sustainable network across the ASEAN countries. The symposium also provides a great opportunity for young and up-and-coming scientists to meet established global experts in multiple disciplines related to ticks and associated pathogens research.
The 2nd SEA Ticks and Tick-borne Diseases Symposium intends to make a progress review, as well as to pursue and to strengthen this regional initiative. As ticks and tick-borne pathogens are a complex and multifaceted issue, the meeting aims to combine multiple and translational research under a One Health approach.
The research topics for individual sessions are as follows:
- New insights in Ticks research
- Updates about Ticks and Tick-borne Diseases in Southeast-Asia
- Tick-borne pathogens research
- Environmental changes and emerging tick-borne pathogens
- Acaricides and resistance – Anti-tick vaccines: advances and perspectives
- Tick bites and associated manifestations
