Stewardship Asia Roundtable 2017
Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore
We live in a world that holds both tremendous business opportunities and very obvious challenges. With increasing technological, political and economic disruption, businesses today are under pressure and business models tend to be transitory. Such uncertainties, together with short-termism and fragmentation of ownership, contribute to a challenging environment for companies to responsibly create wealth over the long term and to steward investment for impact. There is however a renewed interest in business stewardship and sustainable development. And indeed, there are shining examples of sound stewardship, amongst asset-owners and businesses, across a spectrum of business structures. What undergirds sustained performance amidst uncertainties, and constitutes responsible wealth creation and impactful investment?
