Event Tech Trivia

In 1993, a band called Severe Tire Damage made event tech history by live-streaming their concert over the internet – years before YouTube or social media existed. Even NASA, which was testing online broadcasting at the time, got upstaged.

They used a tech called Mbone, an early experiment in internet broadcasting. The stream was grainy, the audio was rough, but it proved one thing: live-streaming events was possible.
