The Periodic Table of Event Strategy

Julius Solaris is calling it like it is: too many events are stuck in 2019, and it’s costing them. Low attendance, frustrated exhibitors, unclear value. Sound familiar?

The fixes: focus on connection, pick venues that work, and stop throwing money at 100 speakers no one asked for. Oh, and he’s put together a Periodic Table of Event Strategy to make it all click.

Use it as a quick-reference guide to rethink strategy and solve low attendance, unclear value props, and ineffective sponsorships. Maybe the wake-up call you need?!

Apple Tests New ‘Invites’ App for Event Management

Apple is reportedly testing a new app called Invites in the iOS 18.3 beta, designed for organizing in-person events.

The app includes iCloud integration, attendee tracking, and potentially a web version. It works with GroupKit, a feature introduced in iOS 18 to manage groups, but has not yet been fully utilized.

Unlike the Calendar app, Invites appears to focus on interactive group coordination. Apple did not mention Invites at WWDC 2024, suggesting the app may be experimental or delayed.

EventTech Trivia

Masahiro Hara, the inventor of the QR code (Image courtesy of Denso Wave Inc.)

QR codes started in 1994 to track car parts—not exactly event material.

By 2020, they were everywhere: contactless check-ins, sharing links, and keeping things safe during the pandemic.

Now in 2025, they’re a go-to tool for events: quick, easy, and super handy for schedules, feedback, and more.

P.S. Our kiosks make QR check-ins fast and easy. Nobody likes waiting in line, try it out!
