Public Workshop Terms and Conditions.
1. Registration
(i) Confirmation is on a first-come-first-serve basis. If the workshop is full, Science Centre reserves the right to accept or deny additional sign-ups via e-mail enquiry.
(ii) Discounted admissions (if any) are subjected to the attendees holding the relevant identification. If identification is not produced upon request, participants will be required to pay the full admission cost.
(iii) There is a minimum number of participants for the workshop to be conducted. Should there be less than the minimum number of participants, Science Centre reserves the right to cancel/postpone the workshop. In the event of a cancellation, full refund (excluding service fee) will be given.
(iv) For workshops with an outdoor component, there will be no refund in the event of unforeseen weather conditions.
2. Cancellation or no-shows
(i) There will be strictly no refunds given for participant's cancellation, no-shows or wrong selection during registration.
(ii) In the event that participants are unable to come for the programme, we would appreciate if the participant could inform Science Centre at least 3 working days in advance to avoid wastage in materials.
3. Photographs and Other Media
(i) Photographs or video recordings may be taken throughout the course of the workshop. By attending the workshop, you consent to having photographs of you taken which may be used by the Science Centre for publicity purposes.
4. Safety [Applicable for on-site workshops]
(i) As most of the workshops are conducted in the lab, participants are required to wear covered shoes and long hair should be tied up.
(ii) Participants shall adhere to the safety rules and regulations of the lab, and at all times not cause nuisance, annoyance or cause damage or injury to Science Centre (including injury to Science Centre’ reputation), the other occupiers or users of the centre. Science Centre reserves the right to stop the workshop or the participant from taking part if there is a breach in safety rules.
5. Indemnity
(i) Any person who participates does so entirely at his/her own risk and shall be deemed to have understood the risks and conditions associated with the programme. Parents are solely responsible for the well-being, discipline and safety of their own children during the whole conduct of the family programme.
(ii) While Science Centre and its subsidiaries (Omni-theatre, Snow City, KidsSTOP) will do their best to ensure safety and well-being of the participants, the employees and agents shall not be responsible for any death, personal injury, loss or damage to participants arising out of his/her participation in the programme.
(iii) Where necessary in the event of an accident or other emergency occurring to the programme participant, Science Centre may at its sole discretion and expense, provide medical or other types of assistance. Such exercise of discretion shall not be deemed as an admission of liability by Science Centre for any injury or loss sustained.
(iv) [For online workshops] Users of the kits should follow the instructions given by the facilitator during the workshop. Since the use of the kit is not within the control of Science Centre Singapore and its subsidiaries (Omni-theatre, Snow City, KidsSTOP™), the user is solely responsible for all damages, injuries and property damage that may arise from such use.
You hereby waive, release, covenant not to sue and forever discharge the Science Centre and all other persons associated with the event, for all liabilities, claims, actions, or damages that you may have against them arising out of or in any way connected with your registration and/or participation in the event, including without limitation any liabilities, claims, actions, or damages caused by negligence of the above parties (including any negligent rescue attempt), the action or inaction of any of the above parties, or otherwise.
