Adventure Camp details:
Here are full details of the programme for a full-day camp at Wildlings:
- 8.50am to 9.00am - Arrival
- Welcome circle and health and safety talk
- Amazing Race Game: In teams, children solve clues, explore Wildlings, complete tasks, and be the first to complete the race!
- Morning Snack: Provided by parents.
- Rotation One: Plantlife - Create a Tapioca Garden / Wild Art – Make Clay Tree Faces. Children will be split into two groups and participate in both experiences in turn. They will learn how to harvest and propagate Tapioca and create a new Tapioca planting area at Wildlings. They will then dig up natural clay, forage for wild items, and use their imaginations to make faces on the trees using the materials.
- Rotation Two: Plantlife - Create a Tapioca Garden / Wild Art – Make Clay Tree Faces
- Lunch time and free play
- Rotation three: Shelter Building / campfire lighting and breadstick toasting. In small groups Children will be taught how to use a knot and lashes to make a shelter and then challenged to make their shelter was waterproof as possible. They will then learn the basics of lighting and managing a campfire safely, before toasting a breadstick on the fire.
- Rotation four Shelter Building / campfire lighting and breadstick toasting
- Shelter testing – who built the best waterproof shelter? We will ask the children to go inside their shelters and we will test how waterproof the shelters are with the hose! The driest team wins!
- Closing Circle – we will reflect on the day’s experiences and share our thoughts on what we have learned and enjoyed and what has challenged us.
- 3.00pm – Home Sweet Home
- Registration close on 06 March 2024.
- Light snacks and drinks will be provided.
- Campers must bring a packed lunch.
- Minimum of 6 participants to commence the camp..
- Registration based on first-come-first-served basis.
- Fees stated are subject to prevailing GST.
- Fees will be charged to membership account.
- Written cancellation received at least 10 days before the event date are acceptable.
- Cancellation within 10 days will incur the full workshop fee, as your attendance contributes to meeting the required participant count for the workshop. Alternatively , you may arrange for a replacement.
