The Straits Times x Singapore Kindness Movement Roundtable
Homelessness in Singapore: Whose problem is it?
About 1,000 people live on the streets of Singapore. Found in older housing estates, these rough sleepers have it tough as they are exposed to the elements with no proper roof over their heads. Some may have been roughing it out for between one and six years.
How do they live?
Who are they?
What are the challenges they face?
A panel of experts will discuss this issue which, is attracting more attention as it becomes more visible on our streets. This is a complex issue that goes far beyond rough sleeping and the panel hopes to come up with concrete, actionable ways of tackling this problem.
Do you have questions for the panel or suggestions on how we can help the homeless?
